HairTwinAI-assisted hair app · native, in development

Built to noticechange early.

HairTwin is a native iOS and Android hair-care companion in development. Six guided angles of your own head, a reading in plain words with a range on every number, a plan sized to your answers and your daily time, and Pip between scans. The app says it on screen: not a diagnosis.

One head. All six angles. An illustrative head makes the capture positions visible. Use the angle selector, pause, or review all six. This is a demonstration of the flow, not a camera recording or a personal result.

01What HairTwin is

The same six angles, read the same way, compared on a date.

Hair changes slowly and is hard to judge by eye. HairTwin gives you something repeatable: six guided angles, a reading with a range on every number, a plan sized to the time you have, and a second scan on day 30 that the first one is compared with. In the app's own words: “Not a diagnosis. Built to notice change early.”

In-app and prototype copy · quotedReadings are development fixtures
Guided capture

A guide ring, light, steady and tilt chips, and a shutter that fires by itself when you hold still. Six angles in about two minutes, with Pip counting. Top, crown and back are always spoken, so the angles you cannot see are guided by voice.

A reading with a range

Hairline, temples, crown and density, read from the six photos into findings in plain words. “Every number is an estimate with a range.” In this build the reading is deterministic development output, not measured hair.

A plan sized to your day

“How much time each day? Your plan is sized to this.” Picks depend on your answers, your safety flags and the area the scan watches. Treatment names and copy are design fixtures, not guidance.

Illustrative · guided capture, demonstrated

Six positions on one illustrated head. Each view keeps the same hairline, crown and texture. Native implementation evidence is available in the capture chapter; no person was photographed for this demonstration.

01bThe idea, visualized

One head. Four stages. What a twin is for.

HairTwin's reading places a person on a four-step stage scale and maps ten areas of the head. This is what that vocabulary looks like on one consistent head: the temples opening independently, the front edge softening, the crown showing scalp from above. Pick a stage, or let it run.

Illustrative conceptStage scale and areas · the app's own

Illustrative hair-state visualization on the app's four-step stage scale (Full · Early · Visible · Extensive) — not a clinical prediction, not a measurement, and not a personal result. HairTwin does not forecast future hair loss; a rescan on a date is intended to compare two readings.

02Capture, review, retake, and the reading

Six angles.Two minutes.

Front, left, right, top, crown and back: one head, six clear views. The demonstration shows what each position captures and how the six views come together for review. The native flow asks you to confirm before continuing to the reading.

Capture · six angles

It counts for you.

“Chin level, eyes on the camera.” “Turn a touch to your right.” “Phone above your head, screen down.” It captures by itself when you are steady, or you tap Capture now. Pip buzzes, counts and says “got it”, and the progress thumbnails fill along the bottom.

The illustrated demonstration explains the positions. Native guide-ring, quality-chip and voice-guidance implementation is recorded in the evidence below.
Review · retake · confirm

“Review before I read them.”

Each angle is graded Not yet, Good, Usable or Retake. Retake returns to that angle; confirmation is required before anything is analysed. “Nothing is read until you continue.”

Illustrated review views make the six positions legible. Native capture evidence and its remaining limitations are kept separately below.
The reading · four phases

Tracing your hairline. Measuring your temples. Mapping your crown. Reading your density.

Four phases on the device, with Pip as the neutral model the marks are drawn on. Then: “6 angles read. Your results are ready, locked until you join.”

Deterministic development output · not measured hair · the traced hairline, temple calipers, crown map and density lattice are not validated inference

01Stage
Four steps, one of them yours.

Full, Early, Visible, Extensive, drawn as top-down dot maps. The scale is picked from your own answer; your exact position stays locked until you unlock. A fact strip counts what was found: thinnest of ten areas, fourteen findings across three pages. The page ends: “Early estimate from one scan, not a diagnosis.”

02Areas
A ten-area map, with Pip touching the zone.

Your head from above, left versus right in three pairs; a side reads thinner only when the band clears zero. “You noticed your crown first. The scan agrees.” Values stay locked; the shape of the finding does not.

03Next scan
A rail from today to day 30.

We found your pattern, we watch your crown, we compare it again. “Same 6 angles. Same light. Side by side.” The prototype's own rationale: one scan cannot measure speed, so HairTwin promises the comparison and dates it.

Analysis, not Analytics: the product names the tab Analysis and its pages Stage, Areas and Next scan · longer-term progress views exist as approved V5/V6 scope, in the roadmap below · fixture dates such as Oct 6 and Nov 5 are prototype chronology

04Plan · latest prototype · 7 October 2026

Your plan, thenone page per pick.

Five pages for the primary fixture: your plan, then a page for each of the three picks, then everything else that was considered. Each pick carries how to use it, what to expect, when you could see it, and a safety line. In Serious Mode the plan is one page: “See a dermatologist first.”

What every pick page carries
  • Why HairTwin picked it, in your words: the reason comes from your own answers and the region the scan watches.
  • Expected improvement and first signs, locked until you unlock. “When you could see it · Not a promise.”
  • How to use and what to expect, then the safety line, which is never locked.
  • Pages change with the fixture. F2 adds a lab-test page, F3 a finasteride page; F5, Serious Mode, has one page.
What the fixture is, and is not

Fixture F1 is a man of 31 watching his crown. Treatment names and copy are design fixtures, not recommendations or clinical guidance; pack shots are generic product art. The prototype quotes “14 checked”; the development evidence base behind it holds 9, and the two must match before this ships. People tests are still owed, and the medical wording and scale names need owner or legal review.

The paywall is explicit on screen. The native membership screen reads “Example prices in this build. No payment is taken.”, and the source notes that no price is decided. The prototype's paywall uses sample pricing and has no purchase. The real personal twin is inactive until the design is explicitly approved; the twin shown after joining is a design fixture.

One mission a day.Behaviour, never biology.

The Journey runs day N of 30 toward the first comparable rescan: a baseline mirror, seven steady days, a shed check on day 14, the rescan goal. One mission a day, and Pip reacts when it is done. Points count steady days and nothing else: “Points track steady days. What they unlock is still being decided.”

Pip · the companion · approved identity
“Meet your hair twin. It can take on any hair. One scan, and it takes on yours.”

The Hello screen plays Pip's original film: the twin before it has anyone's hair, a demonstration that it can take on any hair, never the person's own. Tap Pip and the film replays. The approved identity is a cream fleece plush twin, hood and ears, dark expressive eyes, restrained blush. The live Pip is made of whole renders with the hair already in them, a face that blinks and looks, and a body that breathes, so Pip is never frozen.

“Pip speaks in the first person; the interface speaks plainly. No joke targets the person or their hair.” The V6 rules it is written to: no fake biology, no anxiety loops, Pip never roasts the user, Serious overrides everything, nothing shared by default.

Studio statement · owner to confirm

Hair changes slowly, it is hard to judge by eye, and the advice around it is loud. We are building a way to look at the same six angles the same way, on a date, with the limits written on the screen, a plan sized to the time a person actually has, and a companion that makes the waiting bearable.

The rules came before the features. Every number carries a range. Safety guidance is never locked behind payment. Progress moves only when a rescan moves it; there is no daily percentage. And the companion is on your side.

No product mission document exists yet; this statement is the studio's reading of the app's own lines and is published only once the owner confirms it

When a clinician should look, and what to bring them.

A longer-term goal is to connect people with suitable professional hair-restoration services, including transplant clinics: understanding the options, knowing when a consultation is appropriate, exploring scenarios, and, through future authorized partnerships, discovering and comparing qualified clinics. No clinic partnership exists today and none is implied; the app already says safety comes first and that a clinician takes the first look when the answers call for it.
