Ways to Get More Storage in Your Bathroom

If your bathroom seems a little too cluttered, it might be time to re-think the storage in this space. Whether you have a small bathroom without a lot of extra space, or you simply want to increase the storage possibilities, these tips can help you find a place for everything.

Add Higher Shelves

Many people assume that shelves can only be placed directly in front of them in order for easy access, but this is definitely not the only option. You can add some open shelves higher up on the walls of your bathroom, which uses up every inch of the wall you have free, and gives you some alternative storage options. You can choose areas like above the bathroom door, above the mirror on the vanity, and even above the shower stall if there is room. Choose to store items you only use occasionally and keep a stool near the bathroom so you can access the items as needed.

Keep Cabinets Well Organized

The problem might not be that you need extra storage, but that you should rework the current storage you have. Throwing everything into the cabinets or drawers not only makes it hard to find anything, but you are probably not using all of the space available. For example, the cabinets in your bathroom might be deeper than you think, so all you need is a contractor to add some built-in shelves that slide out, allowing you to place items in the back without too much trouble retrieving them.

Install Custom Cabinets Next to the Toilet

There is often a narrow area between the toilet and the vanity or the shower, which can be used as more storage. Even if it is too narrow for any cabinets or shelving units you find at the store, you could always pay a remodeling contractor to build something custom for this space. This might include a narrow cabinet that fits the space perfectly and allows you to store smaller items.

Get a Built-in Vanity

Does the wall where your vanity is have a lot of empty space? Instead of making it cluttered with a bunch of shelves, you can instead have a custom built-in vanity built. This often takes up the entire wall, where you have enough room for your sink and faucet, mirror, and upper and lower cabinets and shelves. This really makes the best use of a bathroom to give you more storage.

About Me

Redesigning the Rooms in Your Home

Hello, my name is Damian and this blog is full of useful tips that I picked up when I was redesigning the rooms in my home. I recently moved into a new home and I really didn't like the decor. I tried to remodel it myself but I made a bit of a mess. Finally, my wife talked me into calling in a professional team of remodelling contractors who consulted with us before doing a perfect job. I now love the way my home looks. I decided to start this blog to encourage others to remodel their homes. I hope you enjoy it.
